Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Support Teaching Assistant

Job Term Fixed Appointment, Part Time, Term Time
Hours: 10.85 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

We have 1 part time vacancy currently placed in Key Stage 1 working afternoons.
 

What we are looking for:
Ideally experience in working with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

  • An enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills

  • The ability to deliver effective interventions

  • Numerate and with good standards of spoken and written English

  • Ability to build excellent relationships with children and adults

  • Have a good sense of humour and fun, with a desire to make a difference in helping all children to learn to their potential.

This is a fixed term contract for 2 terms (up to end of Summer term 2026) to support children with SEND.

If you need to pick up a few more hours of work each week, you could consider applying to become a crossing patrol officer, and combine this with another part time role in the school, such as MTA or TA. 

  • Patrols work for five hours per week during the school term.

  • These hours are 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the afternoon, around school start and finish times.

  • Patrols are paid 38 weeks for term time, and also an element of annual leave, bank holidays and a half pay “retainer” (approx £600 per year) for the school holidays.
