Kindness week is a part of our annual school calendar. Classes decide on their own activities, and during the week children across the school take part in various acts of kindness. We always encourage kindness within school, and we hope your children enjoyed spreading the message around our local community. We've shared some examples with you here.
Dolphin class made Dolphin masks for the Withycombe pre-school children, and visited them to give out their gifts and to play together. The pre-school children even performed their own act of kindness by showing us their morning warm-up routine, which was great fun!
Year 6 made bookmarks in their own time, which were placed on each seat at the Pavilion Theatre so that everybody attending their show Treachery at Traitor’s Quay would have a keepsake to take home.
Hand-made flowers were taken out into the community, with personal messages of kindness attached. Some children posted hand-made cards through the letterboxes at sheltered homes near to our school.
We love seeing the feedback to this week, and this year some recipients of the kind messages posted onto the Exmouth Community Facebook Page:
Jo Warburton said “Withycombe Raleigh C of E Primary School children well done for that sweet act of kindness you showed with posting your lovely cards into the sheltered homes area near the school. My 93 year old mum was so touched by receiving one! It really brightened her day. A proper touch of human kindness.”
Frances Strange said “I received a lovely card and it happened to be my birthday! I always take a card up to school to thank the child who sent mine.”
